SHR Talent is partnering with a real estate organization in the Milwaukee, WI area to hire a Temporary Accounting Assistant for an assignment beginning in December 2026 and continuing through April 2027.

The Temporary Accounting Assistant will support day-to-day accounting operations with a primary focus on commission payroll processing and journal entries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accuracy while working with time-sensitive financial information.

Position Details

• Temporary assignment: December 2026 – April 2027
• Location: Milwaukee, WI area
• Compensation: $23–$24 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily commission payroll accurately and within established deadlines
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Review accounting information and supporting documentation for accuracy
• Research and assist with resolving discrepancies
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the accounting team
• Assist with additional accounting functions and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, or a related function
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles and journal entries
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet daily deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
