Cafeteria Worker/Cook - Full-TimeHours: 4 hrs Notes: 180 Day contract / Benefits with a 20 hours a week / Earn between $16.31-$21.48(based on years of experience and shift) / 4 paid holidaysQualifications:Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificateHas received or is eligible to receive certification as a school food service employee by the Division of School Food ServiceHas specialized skills in basic mathematicsHas the ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds numerous times per dayIs neat and clean in person and in work habitsHas ability to read and follow written directions and recipesHas ability to operate equipment used in school cafeteria such as cash register, slicer, grater, mixer, steamer, frying machine, dishwasher, steam cart, ovens, etc.Has training and experience in quantity cooking (preferred)Reports To: Manager CafeteriaJob Goal: To serve attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmthPerformance Responsibilities:Be familiar with written guidelines, policies, procedures, and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilitiesCheck food shipments into school, signing invoices only after each order has been verifiedCheck daily menus with manager and work out recipes for correct food amountsPrepare food according to planned menu and tested recipesAssure that food is of best quality in flavor and appearance before it is servedRecord all food withdrawn from storageAssure that unused foods are properly stored or disposed ofPerform major cleaning at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by managerAssist in daily cleaning of kitchenAssist in collecting money for meals and beverages soldMove equipment, supplies and furniture as required for area of responsibilityReport immediately any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen to the Manager CafeteriaReport to manager any faulty or inferior quality food which is receivedAssist manager in keeping production recordsAssist manager in ordering suppliesAssume manager duties in manager's absenceAttend in-service training or workshopsPerform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisorTerms of Employment: Hourly (Grade 40) Hours per day vary Hours per week vary 180 days 9 months Board approved 5-13-04
